#5 - Life of a Psychology Doc Fellow!
Congrats!
Back in April I was given the chance to review The Eco-Nomical Baby Guide by Rebecca Kelley and Joy Hatch. I first found out about this book through their blog - Green Baby Guide. The Green Baby Guide is a blog about "down-to-earth ways to save time, money and the planet". My kind of blog!
The Eco-Nomical Baby Guide is essentially all their tips combined in book format...so it's all at your fingertips...no need to run to the internet to see "what would Rebecca and Joy do?"
The book is a quick read and organized into 9 chapters.
Tips are given on everything from having a green baby shower to diapering (use cloth!) and feeding baby (make your own baby food!). While I found the book to have tons of great information, much of if wasn't anything new to me considering I've been at this for 10 and half month now with my own daughter.
However, I think this book is great for newly pregnant women and even those who are thinking about becoming pregnant and want to be green and save some cash! Which, brings me to why I liked this book so much - Joy and Rebecca show you that you can be green and not go broke doing so! I get the impression from a lot of people that they think/feel/believe being green costs more! But it doesn't! The Eco-nomical Baby Guide can show you how to save money and be green at the same time! Don't believe me (or them)? The book even has a cost breakdown of how much the average person spends (over $6,000!!!) on baby supplies/gear (cribs, clothes, food, bedding etc) and how much they spent (a little over $1,000!).
I have read the book cover to cover and think you should too!No sense in me keeping it around, so what better way to spread the eco-friendly love than by passing my copy of the book on to a blog reader!
That's right, I am going to give away MY copy.
Anyone can enter. You need NOT be a new mom or even pregnant (it has great information in the book to become green if you aren't nearly as green as you'd like to be!)
